Oral Sedation Dentistry

Oral medication is provided prior to treatment in order to induce a moderate, though not complete, state of sedation. Though oral sedatives do not cause sleep, they dull the senses, with a particular prescribed dose of medication taken by the patient prior to the dental appointment. Different levels of sedation can be utilized depending on individual needs. Before administering any sedative, Dr. Trent will analyze the full medical history of the patient, as well as take note of any current medications the patient might be using.
